PIXUS visits Sentosa

First day of the Sep Break and I have to wake at early! Today I'm supposed to go for the North Zone Math Mega Race at Sentosa. AMKSS sent in two teams from sec 3 Express to participate. Let me introduce the 2 teams:

The all boys team is made up of Jun Jie, Wei Hao, Tze Wei and Yong Tat (left to right).


The all girls team is made up of Chongyi & Lynette (back) and Wei Ying & Kexin (front).


So who do u think will win the Race? Boys or Girls?


As usual, I'm going to show you the capabilities of PIXUS. Here's a nice view of the infamous Ferry Terminal. For kids who have never taken the ferry to Sentosa, this place was THE LANDMARK that all kids looked forward to see when they're onboard a ferry when visiting Sentosa. It could be the last time I see the ferry terminal because it'll soon be transformed into a casino.

Here's a shot of the dragon at the fountain. I bet u haven't seen this for a looonnnng time. Think about it, when was the last time u visited the ferry terminal?


So what's the race all about? The competitors have to solve the various Math questions at the different questions and the teams with the highest scores win. Prizes would be presented to the top 20 teams and I think there're a total of 50 teams from the North Zone taking part.

What's the purpose of learning Circular Measure? See.... u have to measure the radius of the circular fountain... without climbling into the it!


Catching King #1, told u to pay attention n class right? Don;t cry just because you cannot remember the formula!!! It's Arc Length = radius x angle in radians.


Opps.. I forgot to introduce the Catching King Clan.

Here's another forgotten place in Sentosa. It's called the Lost Civilisation / Ruined City. What a name... maybe that's why it's a lost area of Sentosa.


Did u know that there's an escalator in Sentosa from Merlion to the Carlsberg Sky Tower??? I DIDN'T KNOW!!! Look at Wei Ying laughing at me.

So what's the outcome of the race? The boys came in 8th and the gals 9th. WELL DONE!!! I didn't stay for the whole race so didn't capture the shots. Too bad. I burned so many calories running around with them today man. Super duper tired.
