PIXUS visits Australia -- Day 1
PIXUS took a Qantas flight to Sydney, Australia on 28th Nov 2006 with me, Miss Lee and Miss Chin. PIXUS took hundreds of pictures in Australia so we'll update the pics day by day... FYI... there're a total of 11 days! Happy reading!
Yipee!!!! We're off to Sydney!!!!

After about 7 hours, our plane landed!!! Hurray!!!

Wait a minute! I said we're going to Sydney, not Melbourne!???!!??
How come the pictures said "Welcome to Melboune"?
The "lucky" trio couldn't land in Sydney on time coz of bad weather. Bad weather in Sydney in summer? How lucky can we be? Our plane had to land in Melbourne for about 3 hours!!!! OMG!!!!! 3 HOURS!!! I wanna go to Sydney!
The airline gave us meal coupons as "compensation".

Don't be upset Miss Chin...

We finally landed in Sydney but we wasted so much time and our planned itinerary had to be ammended. Sob Sob!

We checked into our accomodation at George Street. It's called Pacific International Apartments. The cab ride cost $32 AUD. ($1 AUD is about $1.20SGD)
This is the view from our room.

Starbucks right below.

It's at a pretty good location and it has cooking facilities though it's a bit small for the 3 of us. There were only 2 beds so Miss Chin slept on the sofa bed.

See how cramped it is.

We were famished so we went out to explore George Street. Since we were so hungry, we ate Hungry Jacks!!! Looks like Burger King... food's yummy!

We walked down George Street and found the Queen Victoria Building aka QVB. There's a mammoth 79' Christmas tree with 15000 Swarovski Crystals on it! Amazing!!!

We took a pic with Queen Victoria...

Check out the nice stained glass...

and the nice architecture...

Mirror mirror on the wall... who's the fairest of them all...

Stairway to heaven?

We left QVB and continued walking down the street towards Pitt Street to view Sydney from the highest point. Yes... The Sydney Tower

Some views from the tower...
See Sydney Habour Bridge?

See QVB?

The glass panels tell u the directions.

Wanna post letters? The highest working mailbox in the Southern Hemisphere.

Time for OzTrek... OzTrek is a simulated ride, inclusive from the tickets bought. Urmm... it's quite boring. I feel asleep at some point. :P

We continued walking... on and on... and came to Darling Harbour. Nice place... a bit like our Clarke Quay where there're many eateries and nice views.

The 3 of us then walked to the Sydney Fish Market (which took us about 45mins from Darling Harbour) for dinner. Turns out that... it's closed at night! Drats!!! We're indeed the unlucky trio...
