PIXUS goes to Hong Kong
It's 13th of June and I'm on the plane to Hong Kong! Yipee....
My travel mates include Ms Lee, my cousin Grace, her husband Eddie and her son Max. We're on a Cathay Pacific plane, CX736. Can't wait to get there!
Here's our hotel... take a look!
Hahaha... I wish man! Well, our airport transfer sent some Singaporeans to the Hollywood Hotel at HK Disneyland and we took pictures of it. Hehe...
Anyway, we stayed at the Metropark Mongkok (we forgot to take pictures though). It's not a fantastic place but the location is great!
Once we reached, we rested for a while and headed for shopping at the Mongkok area. We had dinner at this chain eatery called Da Jia Le. Max bought a lot of toys!
DAY 2
Max and his parents are going to Disneyland today and we're going to a factory outlet mall at Tung Chung. The 2 of us didn't want to go to Disneyland HK coz we have already been to the one in California in 2005.
We're at the MTR station.
Max doesn't like to take pictures...hehe
Tung Chung Station
There's Adidas, Nike, Esprit, Roxy, Timberland outlets here (to name a few).
I bought 2 bags (one for me and one for my sister) and 1 jacket for Ms Chin (upon her request).
After Tung Chung, we went back to Mongkok area's Flower Street. We had the dessert at the famous dessert store "Xu Liu Shan".
Our favourite dessert - Yang Zhi Gan Lu (super yummy)
Dinner Time
We went to Tsim Sha Tsui area for dinner. There's this famous restaurant called Tang Chao.
The decor here is super glam -- Gold theme.
We ordered Wan Tan Mee and You Tiao wrapped in Cheong Fun. Actually I'm allergic to prawns but who cares... when in Hong Kong, eat what the Hong Kongers eat.
After dinner, we went to shop around Habour City. Well, we didn't buy anything because the shops there are selling mostly luxury goods. So we headed for the Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront to watch the show, "A Symphony of Lights".
Clock Tower
"A Symphony of Lights" has been awarded the world's "Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show" by Guinness World Records. This nightly spectacle combines interactive lights of 37 key buildings on both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon with musical effects to showcase the vibrancy and glamorous night vista of Victoria Harbour.
Avenue of Stars
Bruce Lee
Sam Hui
Jackie Chan
Leslie Cheung
Anita Mui
Stephen Chow
Tony Leung
Director Lee
DAY 3
Today all 5 of us went out together. Our focus is on Causeway Bay's shopping district. You can never imagine how much we spent at G2000, Sogo and Esprit! The more amazing thing is how we managed to carry all the things (which is super heavy), take the MTR during peak hour and get back to the hotel in one piece. Well, it was an experience though.
After resting our legs, we set off to Tsim Sha Tsui area to shop and eat. Initially we have no plans on where to eat... so we walked and walked and walked and finally passed by this cafe.
We were so happy!!! Wahahaha.... and I was famished!
Me and Ms Lee ordered Portugese Chicken Baked Rice... really yummy.
Max enjoyed his dinner too...
Check out the Mocha... woodstock's on it!
Time to leave...
Day 4
Shopping at Mongkok Area (Didn't have time to take pictures)
Day 5
We had breakfast at Yee Shun Milk Company (near our hotel)
This is the famous Steamed Milk.
Finally Max posed for a pic with Auntie Weijun.
When in Hong Kong, eat what the Hong Kongers eat for breakfast. Maggie mee plus ham and eggs.
A must do in Hong Kong... eat the Fish Ball (Yu Dan). It's super spicy but yummy!
The 2 greedy pigs...
After 5 days of shopping and eating in Hong Kong... it's time to go home. Hong Kong... I'll be back!!!
