PIXUS goes to Sepang
It's 5.45am on Sunday, 8th April 2007 and PIXUS is wide awake, sitting on a coach, waiting to travel 5 hours to Sepang, Malaysia to catch her first ever Formula One Car Racing!!!!!!!!
Ferrari, Mercedes, Honda, Renault, BMW, and many more fast cars and world class racers like Alonso, Kimi, Massa, Heidfeld, Coulthard and many more... can't wait to get there!!!
This is the ticket!
And look at the two sleepyheads...
After about 4.5 hours on the bus with only one stop at Yong Peng, we're finally near Sepang Race circuit. But there's a huge jam!
We are finally here! This is the "Welcome Area" where there are lots of merchandise sold and there are lots of people here even though the race is another 4 - 5 hours away.
Here's a pic of the circuit.
There are lots of Ferrari fans here in Sepang.
After Ms Chin bought a 150 ringgit Ferrari top, we decide to go book good seats. We are sitting at C2 (covered hillstand area).
Check out the circuit! So exciting!!! Can't wait to see the cars!
While I was sleeping, Ms Chin had PinKii for company.
After 2 - 3 hours of waiting in the sweltering sun, we finally hear the deafening engines of the F1 cars. This is the warm up round. See the Ferrari??? Ms Chin is a die hard fan of Kimi. Wherever Kimi goes, she will support the team, so Ms Chin is a Ferrari supporter. As for me, I have no particular preference. I just like the sport :) Although I would say Red is one of my fav colours...hehehe
Anyway, The qualifying results has Massa at pole position, following Alonso then Kimi.
The race begins!!!!!
Unfortunately... Massa was overtaken by the skillful Alonso right from the start till the end.
Race Leader: Alonso (Mclaren-Mercedes)
Where we sat (zi pai)
Almost nearing the end... we went down to get closer to the cars but there's no shelter and the sun was really scorching!
The race ended. Alonso came in first, Lewis Hamilton 2nd and Kimi 3rd.
The cars slowed down to thank the audience!
Although the race only lasted for 2 hours and the journey here and back took 16 hours.... it was WORTH it. It's definitely one of the most memorable roadtrip for the 2 of us. Selamat tinggal Sepang, we will be back!
