PIXUS watches NDP 2007 (Preview)

Last Saturday (20 July), PIXUS was one of the fortunate free to catch the NDP 2007 Preview (NE Show for Primary 5 pupils) at the Marina Bay. My friend Elaine had tickets so we both went to watch the parade.

This year's NDP is really special coz it's the first time it's held at the Marina Bay. The view is FANTASTIC!!! The steps are so steep that the taller ones definitely wouldn't block your view!

PIXUS meets Gaurav in Singapore... again.

Gaurav came to Singapore with his mummy on 11th of July for a very short trip. They popped by Singapore because they had to attend my brother-in-law's sister's wedding in India. Was really fun spending time with my nephew and he's of coz uber cute. Check him out...


The above thinggy was a gift for him from my Hong Kong trip. This giraffe costs $120HKD okay!!! Not cheap!!! After conversion, it's about $22SGD! But I guess it's worth it right... since it's so cute. Hehehe....

PIXUS' pal (N73) visits the National Museum of Singapore

PIXUS spent an arty farty Sunday at the National Museum of Singapore (NMS) with KP and Kyan. Kyan is the Assistant Manager in charge of Programming at the NMS.


This is the uber cool Kyan.


Kyan won a brunch voucher at some function and invited me for the brunch which actually costs $48+++ per person. I was fortunate enough to be invited for this expensive brunch. The ambience at the restaurant is really nice and arty. Well, I forgot to take pictures coz I was too engrossed in the food....hehe... Apparently there were quite a few rich and famous having their brunch there. How many of you would go for a $48+++ brunch on a Sunday? I think I usually have a $2 Wan Tan Mee at home on Sundays.... haha.

After brunch, Kyan brought me around the museum. Seriously, I have been to the British museum but never to Singapore's. A bit embarrassing I should say. I'm glad that I get free entry to all the places because of Kyan. You should go check out the museum one day if you're free. There are lots of interesting things going on there.

For example, there's this super huge screen that looks like a wall when not switched on.


We went to the 2nd floor to take pictures and it appeared on the screen (after a long wait). This is the artist...


There's free screening at the museum too. We sat in front of a TV for a screening about love. It's quite interesting.




Kyan had a good laugh.


There are some swinging chandeliers which costs more than 10k each!!!

So what can you do at the museum? There are History Galleries, Living Galleries and Exhibition Galleries. What's more, you may meet the uber cool assistant manager... Kyan at the museum. Hahaha....
